When could quantum computers become a threat to Bitcoin?

Answer C: If one day they could calculate the corresponding private key from a public key.
Why is this correct?
The relevant threat would be a sufficiently powerful quantum computer able to derive private keys from exposed public keys. That is why quantum-resistant protection and migration approaches for Bitcoin are already being discussed.
